Running

My name is Samantha and I am a runner.

I began running about 8 years ago. I remember setting out with my sister for a 2K “run” at dusk. Halfway through, the run turned into a walk and I returned home cramping and panting, but not defeated.

Somehow I took to the sport that required little coordination and lots of determination. I continued working at it until gradually running a bit longer until I could finally run the 2K without walking.

Before I new it, over a period of 2 years, I was running 5K and then 8K and then 12K. It took a lot of work and a lot of miles logged but eventually I went from non-exerciser to runner.

Nowadays I can’t quite run as fast as I used to. I spend a fair amount of time weightlifing and my running comes secondary, but I still love the sport.
